We are an evangelical, Bible-believing Reformed
Church, serving God in the west  Houston area. Following the Scriptures, we seek to glorify God through prayer, praise, strong Bible-based teaching, the fellowship of the saints and a desire to live holy lives before Him.  Worship is traditional, seeking to be in the Spirit and Truth.  We sing Biblically-based hymns and the Psalms and emphasize preaching and teaching of the Scriptures.

Covenant is part of the Presbyterian Church of America.

New Member's Class (As Needed)
The New Member's Class covers the five vows of church membership and prepares you for uniting publicly with the body of Christ.  Church membership is a serious matter.  As we make public vows at other important occassions in our lives (weddings, citizenship, public office), so also we vow before God to do certain things for His glory in the Church.  We encourage anyone who is not yet a member of Covenant PCA to consider this class.  Please contact Pastor Veiga if interested.

This Sunday at Covenant (March 14, 2010)

9:40 AM Adult Sunday School
Book: Reformed Worship by Terry Johnson
Teacher
: Pastor Rev. Lou Veiga
This Sunday:  Worship in Truth
Week number two of our new adult class on Corporate Worship commences with a study on "Worship in the Truth". God Himself seeks worshippers, and He requires that we worship Him in Spirit and in truth (cf. John 4:23). The Bible is the perfect and sufficient revelation for all of our spiritual needs; how much more sufficient is it to guide us in the worship of its Author?
The textbook for this class is Terry Johnson's Reformed Worship: Worship That Is According to Scripture.  You are cordially invited.  The class will cover two main topics: 1) The Bible's Regulative Principle of Worship Defined; and 2) The Bible's Regulative Principle of Worship Applied (at Covenant PCA). Sermon
:  "Is John the Christ?"
ScriptureLuke 3:15-20
PreachingPastor  Rev. Lou Veiga
Outline:     I. John and Christ Had Much in Common
II. John and Christ Had Essential Differences
What did the ministry of John the Baptist have in common with that of Jesus Christ?  Were there essential differences in their ministries?  If so, why would the Jews of that day ask if John were the Christ?  Come and join us this Sunday morning as we worship the Triune God in the name of Jesus Christ.

6:00 PM Evening Prayer Service
The second Sunday evening of each month is devoted to elder-led congregational praying.  Bring your petitions to our gracious God!  Enjoy a refreshing hour of prayer - and join us for dinner afterwards.

Our Pledge to Visitors

What may you expect if you were to visit us next Sunday?

  1. We will worship God only as He has prescribed in His Holy Scriptures.  We do not manipulate consciences or levy man-made rules and practices on the people of God.  We love this liberty because the Son of God has made us free (John 8:36).

  2. We will worship God by delivering His whole counsel to His people.  We teach the whole of the Bible, because Jesus Christ has commanded us to teach it (Matthew 28:18-20).

  3. We will preach sermons in consecutive order through entire books of the Bible without side-stepping the difficult texts (Acts 20:26, 27).  We find harmony in the Scriptures; therefore we explain the meaning of the whole Bible and apply its teachings practically for your Christian walk.

  4. We will not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus and Him crucified.  We declare that we are bereft of any righteousness of our own.  We freely confess our sin every week.  But the good news is that God saves sinners and justifies the ungodly through faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 4:5).  We glory in Christ and in the righteousness that is imputed to us through faith in Him (Philippians 3:8-10; Titus 3:5).
