 Adult Sunday School Class
Book: The Sermon on the Mount: Living Life as Christ Taught it, by Gordon K.
         Reed
 Teacher: Rev. Lou Veiga
What better source to learn what the Christian life is about than from Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church! In this practical 13 week class we will study Matthew's account of Jesus' sermon. Surely every Christian--young and old, mature or new to the faith--can profit from this study!

Join us this week in Sunday School as we introduce this helpful series and learn how to live life as Christ taught it.

A companion book to this class, Studies in the Sermon on the Mount, by D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, is recommended.

Sermon
 "Jesus' Gospel Enterprise"
ScriptureLuke 8: 1-3
PreachingPastor Rev. Lou Veiga
Outline:     I. Jesus Diligently Evangelized
                II. Jesus Included His Disciples
               III. Jesus Included Women

What was Jesus' ministry like? Was He primarily a teacher, a preacher, or an evangelist? Or are these categories overly distinguished today? Did Jesus travel only to places of great gospel receptivity, or did He travel widely in Israel? And why did Jesus include His disciples, even women, in His itinerant ministry? Join us at worship this Sunday as we learn about evangelism according to Jesus.

6:00 PM Evening Prayer Service

The second Sunday evening of each month is devoted to corporate prayers: Adoration, Confession of Sin, Thanksgiving, and Supplication. If you stand in need of God's help and blessing, we invite you to join us. A "Pot-luck" supper follows immediately after prayer, and you are invited to stay--we'd like to get to know you!

  Our Pledge to Visitors

What may you expect if you were to visit us next Sunday?

  1. We will worship God only as He has prescribed in His Holy Scriptures.  We do not manipulate consciences or levy man-made rules and practices on the people of God.  We love this liberty because the Son of God has made us free (John 8:36).

  2. We will worship God by delivering His whole counsel to His people.  We teach the whole of the Bible, because Jesus Christ has commanded us to teach it (Matthew 28:18-20).

  3. We will preach sermons in consecutive order through entire books of the Bible without side-stepping the difficult texts (Acts 20:26, 27).  We find harmony in the Scriptures; therefore we explain the meaning of the whole Bible and apply its teachings practically for your Christian walk.

  4. We will not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus and Him crucified.  We declare that we are bereft of any righteousness of our own.  We freely confess our sin every week.  But the good news is that God saves sinners and justifies the ungodly through faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 4:5).  We glory in Christ and in the righteousness that is imputed to us through faith in Him (Philippians 3:8-10; Titus 3:5).
